Pause, resume and remove
Every website on the list has its own switch, and there is a master switch above them all. Knowing which to reach for saves you from re-deploying scripts on other people's sites.
The three controls

Pausing one website
Press Pause connection on a website row. Its badge changes from Connected to Paused, and its script is refused from that moment.
The script on the other site is not touched. It is still in their footer, still loads, and is still refused at your end. That is the point: you can stop a site instantly without asking anyone to edit their site.
Press Connect to undo it. The same script keeps working — no new key, no re-copying, nothing to coordinate with whoever runs the other site.
When to use it: a client site is being rebuilt and you do not want the assistant answering from stale content; a campaign has ended; a partner site is sending you low-quality traffic.
Pausing everything at once
The master switch stops every external embed, connected or not. Your website list, their keys and their settings are all kept, so resuming needs no new scripts anywhere.
When to use it: you are doing maintenance on the knowledge base and do not want half-updated answers going out; you are migrating hosts; something is flooding you with traffic and you want it to stop immediately.
Your own site's widget keeps working when external embeds are paused — this switch is about other websites only.
Removing a website
Removing forgets the website entirely and retires its key. Unlike pausing, this cannot be undone: adding the address again mints a new key, so the old script in the other site's footer will stay dead until someone replaces it with the new one.
When to use it: the site no longer exists; the relationship has ended and you want the key destroyed rather than merely dormant.
⚠️ Removing needs the other site's cooperation to undo. If there is any chance you will want it back, pause instead. Pausing is reversible without touching the other site; removing is not.
Which should I use?

Rotating the bridge secret
If you have set up the signed bridge, the Embed Script screen also offers Generate a new secret.
Press it and a fresh secret is created immediately. The old one stops working at once, so any bridging server still using it will be refused until you update it.
Rotating the secret does not affect ordinary direct embeds — those use public site keys and carry on working.
The secret is never displayed in full anywhere, including here. Use Copy on the screen when you need to install it on the bridge server; it is shown masked everywhere else so that a glance over your shoulder is not enough to steal it.
Seeing the current state
The heading of section 2. Your websites shows how many websites are connected. Each row shows its own address, its own badge, and its own script — so you can always tell at a glance which sites are live, and which have been paused.
